GRAND OPENING: SEPTEMBER 21ST, 2024!

Saturday, September 21st, People's Place Gallery launches a Grand Opening Celebration: Bash on Baldwin Street. We invite you to join us as a sponsor for an outdoor street festival celebrating the art, music, and fashion of Elmira, NY.

Guest appearances/book signings include NYC rock legend Earl Slick, lead guitarist for David Bowie and John Lennon, Dennis Dunaway, writer/bass player for Alice Cooper, and fashion guru/hometown hero Tommy Hilfiger (tentative). In the evening, Elmira's Veteran Hair-Raising Rockers FRIGHT take the town by storm with a street jam concert. The celebration will be covered by live radio broadcast, with face painting/activities hosted by CAE, and local flavors and refreshments offered by Roundin' Third.

The name People's Place holds a special place in the hearts of Elmira Natives as a Rock & Roll Xanadu of Teenage Fashion. Tommy Hilfiger's original chain stores sold not just clothes, but a lifestyle fusing hip looks, rebel music, and marijuana paraphernalia. People's Place was the Place to Be.

As a friend and original PP staff member, I want to resurrect and reinvent that primal, passionate spirit with People's Place Gallery. This Art Gallery is an Homage to the Original Hilfiger Genius where a New Generation of Talent can Showcase Their Work. A Place Where People can Meet to Talk, Drink, Think, Learn, Create, and Enjoy!
